By default, Canvas courses are hidden from students after the semester ends. Faculty have the option to set an alternate end date and/or allow viewing after the end date at a course level.
Each semester's classes have a "close date" for all Canvas courses in that term. The default is that students cannot access content after the close date. But as the course instructor, you can go into settings and change that if you’d like – uncheck the “Restrict students from viewing course after term end date.” You can also change your course Participation setting from “Term” to “Course” to add a custom close date that is different form the term end date, if you wish.
