Getting Started
In J1, course rosters and advisee information is separate from the My.Olin.Edu portal. For convenience, we have a link that gets you between the two systems so they work seamlessly together.

Go to https://my.olin.edu
- Click on “Academic & Advising” tab at the top of page

View Course Rosters
- The navigation menu at the left shows multiple options, depending upon your permissions. Choose “My Courses”.

- On the right side under “My Courses” you will click on the link “View My Courses on J1 Web”

- You’ll see a summary of all active courses. Click on a course to view more details.

- Once you detail into one of your courses you will have access to your class roster by clicking on “Section options”
Academic Advising Hub
- The navigation menu at the left shows multiple options, depending upon your permissions. Choose “My Advisees”.

- On the right side under “My Advisees” you will click on the link “View My Courses on J1 Web”

- Click on a student's name to open their Student Summary Page.

- You'll see the Student Summary Page

Click Person Options button to see Person or Student Information
Advising Worksheet (formerly Degree Audit)
- Both faculty and students see the same Advising Worksheet.
To access: Person options > Student > Reports > Advising worksheet


- You may also print an Unofficial Transcript.
To access: Person options > Student >Transcripts >Unofficial transcript

- Student Schedule:
- By default, the system shows the first term listed. Be sure to select the correct term you are looking for.

To see course status, open in PDF view as shown above. You will see additional details like Waitlist and Currently Enrolled status.
Faculty Course Override
- Faculty can create prerequisite course overrides for the classes they teach.
- Click on Hub Options > Manage course override > Complete the form “Create Override

- When an override is created:
- The student receives an email notifying them they may now register.
- The Registrar can view all overrides.
- Faculty can view overrides related only to the courses they teach.
Communication
Note: Communication directly from J1 is not fully enabled yet.
- Using Communication+ you will be able to:
- Send messages.
- View communication history (all messages sent become part of the student record).
- To activate Options:
- Click the box in front of a student’s name.
- Click on Options > Send communication
