Mapping a network drive in Windows

Summary

Instructions on how to map a network drive to a local drive in Windows.

Body

Note: You must be connected to the Olin network via wired connection, wireless connection or via VPN connection

  1. Open the Start Menu

  2. Right click on This PC (right side of the start menu) and select Map Network Drive

  3. For the Drive field, select from the available drive letters that are not already in use

  4. For the Folder, type in the network address of the folder you want to map to

  5. Select Reconnect at Log on

  6. Click Finish

    • The drive will now open to show you the contents

    • You should now be able to see the drive in Computer with your other drives

Note: If prompted to log in, you need to specify “olin.edu\USERNAME”
