Set or Recover your Olin Account Password

This process can be used to activate your Olin account for the first time, or to recover a forgotten Olin account password using Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR).

1. Go to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

2. Enter your Olin email address, then type the verification characters in the picture and click Next. (For alumni/ae, please use your username@olin.edu identifier, not your @alumni.olin.edu email address.)

 

3. Select “I forgot my password” and click Next.

4. For new employees, your personal email address has already been added to your Olin account. Please use this as the first verification method. Select Email my alternate email, and click the Email button.

5. You will receive an email in your personal email account with the verification code.

6. Enter the verification code and click Next.

7. For new employees, your cell phone number has already been added to your Olin account. Please use this as the second verification method. Select Text my mobile phone.

8. Enter your cell phone number and click Text.

9. Enter the verification code from the text message and click Next.

10. Enter and confirm your new Olin password. Your Olin password must:

  • It must contain a minimum of 8 characters

  • It must meet at least 3 of the following complexity requirements:

    1. Uppercase letter (A – Z)

    2. Lowercase letter (a – z)

    3. Number (0 – 9)

    4. Non alphanumeric special character (~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * _ - + = ` | \ ( ) { } [ ] : ; ' < > , . ? / ) etc.

  • It cannot contain your name or username

11. Click Finish.

12. You have now set up your Olin password. You can now log into Olin services such as Outlook email, OneDrive, or the Olin Portal using your Olin email address and your new password.

 

If you are unable to recover your password, please contact the IT Help Desk (781-292-2430, helpdesk@olin.edu) for further assistance. You may be required to visit the Help Desk in person to verify your identity.
