Setup Microsoft Teams in Ubuntu

Download Teams

Download Microsoft Teams for Linux from here.

On the next page select the Linux DEB (64-bit) link.

Save the file to your Downloads folder in your home directory.

Install Teams

After the download is complete, press the ctrl+alt+t keys to launch the Terminal application.

Type the following commands in the Terminal

 cd Downloads 
 ls teams*
 sudo apt install ./teams_1.3.00.25560_amd64.dev 

Your Teams DEB file name may be a different depending on the version.

When the install is complete, press the superkey+a to open your applications. Microsoft Teams icon has a big T on it. Click on the icon to launch the application.

First Login

When Teams is launched it will ask you to enter your Olin College Email address and then click on the Sign-in button.

You will be prompted for your email once again. Select the Next button when you are done.

Next, you will be prompted for your Olin College password. Click on the Sign-in button when you are ready.

You will then be prompted if want to stay logged in, select Yes. Finally, Microsoft Teams will load.
